In the New Year

DISNEYLAND!!!

Being OBSESSED with Disney, this is going to be such a magical experience. I have been to Disneyland a total of 3 times and in this new year about another 2 or 3 times. This will be the kids first time and I am definitely very excited to see them experience this magical place also know as "THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH"!!! (As you can see I'm just a bit excited.)

Now going on a 6-8 hour drive with a 4 year old and two 2 year olds, this is definitely  going to be a long... long... long....... drive down. So in preparation (and to get my pre-Disney excitement out) I have created little Disney trip car packs for them to open every time we've reached a certain destination.
For example, I'll give them a bag when we first leave the house, then when we stop at a gas station for the first time and so on. The purpose of this is so they have something to look forward to and too hopefully to keep them quiet on the car ride. Even if we've reach that specific destination, they won't get it unless they have been good. Since I believe we will leave either at midnight or 3-4 in the morning, it will hopefully give them some peace and quiet if they have a headache or something.
I haven't bought everything for the packs yet since I've only really been able to take one trip after school. I sadly only found some things for my little sister and still have to get a few more items for the boys but my idea is to put 1-2 items in a bag with a special treat.

Here are some of the items that I picked up:

The picture on the left are things that I have bought my sister Gina and on the right for Christian and Sebastian. Here is a closer look at the things I picked up.

The bubble blowers I got at Toys-R-Us for I believe 5 dollars each in the row of 1-5 dollar bins located where you first walk in.

I also found these at Toys-R-Us located in the same section as the bubble machines for 3 dollars and I found the the Tsum Tsum Light and Sound in the Tsum Tsum section of the same store for $9.99.

I found these two adorable shirts at Target in the boys section for $7.99.

All of these items I bought for my sister  in the $1-3 at target. I don't remember exactly how much each item was.

This item I got at Hot Topic. This is for Gina to start her pin trading collection and really start to get out of her comfort zone and talk to people and where else is better than Disneyland, a safe place for her to learn.    ----->

An interactive thing for not only the 4 year old to  do but also the 2 year olds are able to do is a count down.(Now I didn't come up with any of these ideas by myself. I went onto Pinterest and looked all these things up.) I went to the closest Dollar Store to my house and bought a black picture frame to create the count down. I didn't really have an idea on how I wanted it to look so I went back so Pinterest and looked at some ideas. After looking for a few minutes, I decided I wanted to create a Mickey Mouse looking one.
Grabbing some black, red and yellow paper, I created a Mickey Mouse themed count down. My idea at first was just for the kids to look upon and I'd change the day but after thinking for a little, I realized every day the kids can alternate and erase and "rewrite" it. Each kid has only gotten to do it once but they love it and look forward to it everyday.

The second craft that I've done is make Disney themed hair bows. Now this one is more for my little sister Gina but I can easily turn this into a bow tie for the boys. (If they'd wear them or not I don't know.) Now we're only going to be in the park for 3 days but my mom loved them so much she said she'd wear them but why not wear them any day, right? Gina can get away with it. I've only created Ariel because I found some perfect ribbon for it at the Dollar Store but once I get other materials, I'll be creating more.

I've been creating and getting ready to make the kid's first Disney trip as special as I can and still have so much left to do. What was your experience seeing the youngest kid in your family go to Disneyland for the first time? What did you do to get ready for your trip?

Cut It or Keep It?

The Cons of having Long Hair

Ever since the 5th grade, I had short hair up till about 8th grade. I loved it because it was very easy to tend to and didn't get caught in anything. My little sister was born in 2012, when I still had short hair. It was a marvelous time because she couldn't grab at what wasn't there.

As she grew older, she did start to yank and pull at stuff but it wasn't really till the boys were born that I started to have a problem.

During 8th grade year, I had a friend who decided to grow out his hair, cut it and donate it. That inspired me to try and do the same thing.

So far I have not achieved that goal ( especial since I've dyed it).

Not so long after that decision, my parents surprised every they were having another baby only to find out it was twins! At the point the boys were born, I had just gotten out of 8th grade and it was almost summer. I have to admit, I did not like the stages my hair grew out in but as it kept growing longer and longer, and the boys started growing older and older, it most definitely got yanked.

Although I can't get every glorious shot of me shrieking in pain and my brothers and sister laughing at me, it most definitely is funny when I do get a great shot like this one.

Now that the boys are going through terrible 2's, I really have to watch those little hands getting tangled up and grabbing a fist full of hair. I've learned to always try to keep it up and out of their way or at least not get very close to them when they are grumpy and not happy with me. The only problem with lazy mornings like this, is that I will most definitely end up getting hurt!

What are some of your experiences with long or short hair and little kids? What do you prefer? Leave a comment down below and let me know!

Kids shows

Their Favorite Shows Are Secretly Mine Too

We all have have our favorite TV show whether it's Grey's Anatomy, The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones, but so do little kids. With there being three of them in my house hold and them being so young, there are always the same three shows on with an exception of a few others. These shows being Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol and PJ masks. It's on so much that I've memorized the songs and sometimes while I'm at school, I will randomly get them stuck in my head and have to refrain from singing it out loud. Even those little songs side songs or tunes that get  played throughout the episode.

A show that they used to watch when the kids were younger was Daniel Tiger. Everyday, every hour they could, that show was always on. Out of kids shows that my siblings watch, that one was one of my favorites. They were really able to soak in each lesson that specific episode was trying to teach. I’m able to sing the little jingle (because those got burned into my head too) whenever the kids start to act up and they immediately understand and switch the way they were acting… with a little help since toddlers are very persistent.

After watching these episodes over and over again while mom is upstairs cleaning and dad making dinner, you evently start subconsciously learning and remembering things that come up in episode. I’ve learned all the characters names, favorite things, and things they hate. For example, in Paw patrol, one of the pups names is Rocky. He is the recycling pup, color of his pup car is green, and he hates water. I even know a lot of lines that each character says on a certain episode.

Even sometimes on weekends, when the kids go down for a nap, the TV is left on and I'm downstairs alone. My mom will come down to find me still sitting on the couch watching what ever was left on. Hey! I need to find out if the Paw Patrol save the baby turtles!

No matter what, I’ll always get one of the cartoons songs stuck in my head, know the show by heart and get caught watching it by myself but I will always be right next to them watching the newest episode of their favorite TV show.
